When you take your antibiotics like you're supposed to, the dose and directions your doctor tells you, they kill the bacteria and prevent it from multiplying and you get better.

When you misuse your antibiotic and take it when you don't need it, it doesn't take care of anything. Flus and colds are viruses, NOT bacteria. When you take it when you don't need it, you kill the nice bacteria in your body and make the bad bacteria stronger.

If you are prescribed an antibiotic, just keep taking it even though you feel better. of course you'll get better in time, but that doesnt mean that the bad stuff is all gone. if you DO NOT do this, you'll end up making the bacteria stronger and stronger and pretty soon you'll be REALLY SICK and when your doctor gives you an antibiotic to take care of the bacteria, the bacteria will be immune to the antibiotic and you will not get better.

DO NOT ask for antibiotic if you have the flu.

DO keep taking your antibiotic when you're prescribed it... even if you feel better.

Do not take old antibiotics just because you're feeling sick.
